L. Sprague de Camp - The myth of Atlantis and the continents
There are books that are forgotten in libraries for years, who knows when purchased in some kind of flea market. I do not know where my husband has recovered this book, the fact is that when my delirium on Atlantis arrived at the summit, has placed me in his hand and said "Read this and stop breaking ic ******! ".
I'm joking of course, but for sure it was a great input. I fantasized about the myth of Atlantis for a couple of years, ever since I learned of the contest "Archetypes", published by The Tela Nera , che ha dato origine a un'antologia intitolata appunto " Archetipi " (che magari acquisterò, visto il mio interesse per l'argomento).
Non vi dico il mio stupore nel trovarmi in the face of such a text, written by a perfect cynical argument, but absolutely brilliant and a huge culture, not only on the mythology, but also on geology, history and more. A wonderful
ridicule of esoteric theories, the sand castles of historians, of instrumental interpretations of ancient texts.
short, a book so irreverent and slide to look like a novel, with the end result of having given a last-depth the most important theories and / or abstruse about the myth of Atlantis, with a lot of scientific thinking (or perhaps I should say, rational) attached.
I liked so much, that on the advice of a user of the forum Dragons' Lair , I connected to the site of the libraries in the area to try one of the novels by de Camp (after discovering one of the most ironic science fiction writers), "The Ring of the newt." But I will talk about this in the next post. ;-)
