Judaica: 1. Dostoevsky and the Jews

I propose here to study a new theme for me, I need to investigate, namely, the relationship with the Jews of Dostoevsky el ' Judaism. I know that the Russian writer, was numbered among the worst anti-Semites. But I want to investigate closely how things are exactly. I'm used to read more nonfiction than of literature. I have before me the "Diary of a Writer" with its olre 1000 pages and I struggle to find the songs yet indicted. I auguro che questo mio post non mi produca insulti e contumelie analoghe a quelle che mi sono giunte alcuni anni fa, quando decisi di mettermi a studiare il tema dell’«Olocausto». Ormai però sono preparato a respingere ogni genere di assalto e se necessario anche a passare al contrattacco. Apprezzerò invece e ringrazio anticipatamente di ogni indicazione di studio e di ogni utile segnalazione. Avverto che questo sarà il primo post di una serie collegata. Ad esempio, avendo appreso dell’esistenza di un autore come Jacob Brafman seguirà su di lui una scheda e una ricerca. La serie nasce dunque aperta e non sappiamo a quali scoperte di nuovi autori giungeremo. Per autori qui non si intendono i grandi della letteratura, come appunto Dostoevskij, but anyone even obscure and mediocre writer can tell us something new that we do not know.
